Hematopathologist and Director of the Clinical Flow Cytometry Laboratory

Dr. Sophie Song is a practicing hematopathologist, and the Director of Clinical Flow Cytometry/ Bone Marrow Laboratories. She is board-certified in Hematology as well as Anatomic and Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology. After obtaining her PhD in biochemistry and completing post-doctoral training in cellular immunology, Dr. Song worked as research scientist and project leader at biotech industry, where she has developed hands-on and in-depth knowledge of multiparametric flow cytometry. She became a faculty member here immediately after completing her residency training in pathology and fellowship in hematopathology at UCLA. Since then, Dr. Song has accumulated extensive diagnostic and multidisciplinary expertise in managing hematolymphoid disorders. In addition, she has become an internationally recognized expert in clinical flow cytometry.
