Dr. Paul S. Mischel is Professor of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine and Molecular & Medical Pharmacology, Associate Director of Clinical Sciences, The Institute of Molecular Medicine, Co-Director, Cancer Stem Cell Program Area- Eli and Edythe Broad Center of Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research, and Scientific Director, Sarkaria Biomarker Innovation Laboratories. He is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards including the Pfizer New Faculty Award, STOP Cancer Award, Johnny Mercer Foundation Award, and the Farber Award for brain tumor research. His research focuses on finding novel molecular genetic and nanotechnology approaches to improve diagnostic tests and identify therapies for glioblastoma. He recently published a breakthrough study in the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine illuminating how to predict response to EGFR kinase inhibitors in glioblastoma patients.
